West Coast Wilderness Trail

Over the summer holidays Me, Mum and Dad did the West Coast Wilderness Trail.

It was very exciting because I had never done 132 km in 4 days. To prepare, to pack for the big trip I had to pack a lot of things. It took us 2-hours to get to Greymouth from Christchurch.

We stopped 3 times and 1 time we went to a famous pie shop. After that we went to get ice cream. We stopped at a scenic viewpoint that looked down to a very big bridge. It was called the Viaduct.

  1. Hi Madison,

Well done on doing the trail, 132 km in 4 days would be very hard work. I think you would really appreciate a pie and ice cream after that. What part of the trip did your enjoy the most?

  2. Hi Madison,
I love going to the West Coast because of the beautiful scenery. My favourite thing to do there is to go for walks in the bush. Where does the Wilderness Trail go? Is it a walk or do you go in the car?

The west coast wilderness trail was amazing.
YES the scenery was amazing too.
You can bike on the west coast wilderness trail.these are the directions: Greymouth to Kumara to Cowboy Paradise to Hokitika to Ross. So it took us 4 days to do. We biked 132 km. My favourit part was the swing bridges and the down hills. For lunch, we had crackers, cheese, salami and fruit. We also porridge for breakfast each day. It only rained one day!
